Chapstick Cozy

I followed the tutorial by Little Bit Funky for the Chapstick Cozy - Five Minute Edition (www.littlebitfunky.com).  It was quick & easy.  I didn't have a plain d-ring in my stash but I did have the clip ring that I was going to use to make a new lanyard for my keys - it worked perfectly! It can now hook onto my purse or tote bag.

Edit:  It also fits my Clinique lipgloss!!!

Flannel Dog Blanket

Size:  21.5" x 21.5"

I cut my flannel scraps into 4" squares and make my dogs little quilts.  They use them in front of their crates, in front of the fireplace and just in general.  Somehow, their first ones have lasted over a year but I keep thinking that with all the washings and use, etc, that it would be a good idea to have a back up or two.  So here is my first extra.

I stitched in the ditch and then about 0.5" on either side of the seam line.

Sometimes Charlie loves his quilt...

and sometimes he doesn't...

Bud loves his too and is a lot easier on his but didn't want to be in the picture :)

Java Macchiato Bento Box

Pattern:  Bento Box by Tracey Brookshier
Size:  48.5" x 60.5"
Fabrics:  Java Macchiato by Stephanie Prescott for Galaxy, a division of EE Schenck Co (one strip set for this size)
Binding:  Tonga by Timeless Treasures
Backing:  Woolies by Bonnie Sullivan & Maywood Studio - this is one of the softest flannels
Thread:  King Tut 983

I stitched in the ditch - it was enough to make all the gorgeous prints stand out.

I have a small little pile of scraps left - maybe a mug rug or two???

Parksville Quilthouse Quilters

Prior to moving to Nanaimo I was a member of the Parksville Quilthouse Quilters guild.  This was a project which I had planned on finishing and sending back shortly after the move but life happens.  Now, two and a half years later...

(Sorry the colour seems a bit off in the picture of the whole quilt)

Size:  36" x 36"

The quilt is all half square triangles which I offset to one side and then added a narrow border.  Because this is a "Comfort Quilt" (for donation), I quilted it quite a bit as I imagine it will be washed frequently or possibly in industrial machines.

For the backing I used a green flannel with a floral print which coordinated beautifully.

Another Fabric Box

This little fabric box is the same as my previous ones but with fabric that matches the wall hanging in my powder room on the main floor.  I'm going to use it to hold my lip gloss and other miscellaneous items which end up there. I love the turtles & dragonflies!!!

Quilt:  Taffy Pull from  Micro Mini Quilts by Moose on the Porch Quilts
Size 14" x 14"

This was a fun little quilt to make as Konda Luckau has some different ways to use your 2.5" squares, Taffy Pull, being just one of them.
