Diamond Ginko Leaves

I have an upcoming class in early March and the pattern finally arrived so I could make the sample.  This used the Double Diamond Ruler to make diamond sections - I chose to satin stitch them down as I'm not a big fan of raw edges - it was still pretty quick and easy - especially when I actually read the instructions :)  The wine bag was an included bonus pattern that used the leftover strip set.

Family, Friends & Frogs

One of my friends has always wanted a denim quilt and had been saving pairs of jeans from family & friends.  Her husband's favorite color is green and she loves frogs so I made "Family, Friends & Frogs" for Conor & Lee and backed it in a green flannelette with a frog print.  I used a navy batik with some green lines as the binding.

I ended up meandering over the whole quilt as some of the denim was stretchy and a bit of a challenge.  It was windy here yesterday and the quilt is 66 1/2" x 99 1/2" and heavy so the photos were also a bit of a challenge.

2011 Quilts

I have never blogged before but am starting today as I've decided I need to document my quilts better than I have in the past and as I work better with a deadline - even a self-imposed one.

To begin with I'm going to try to post my newest quilts & projects as I finish them and then I'll try to add in previous stuff.  So here goes nothing...

Pattern:  Diamonds Are a Quilter's Best Friend by Fabric Tart Designs
Version:  Big Is Good Too

Pattern:  Moroccan Tile by Phillips Fiber Art

I have to admit that this is the flimsy only and I still need to sandwich, quilt, bind & label.

I loved the martini glass fabric!
